Photonic Integration Conference 2017 welcomes Jeppix as Exhibition Partner. The event takes place on 26 September 2017, High Tech Campus Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
JePPIX has successfully brought the European InP photonic integrated circuit (PIC) community together as a coherent force to advance and promote technology. JePPIX provides:
- Open access technology. The Process Design Kit (PDK) at the heart of the multiproject wafers technology provides seamless cooperation between designers, software developers, fabs, and prototype builders and one-stop-shop brokering.
- Technology acceleration, enabling major advances in technology building blocks, leveraging know-how from multiple academic and industrial partners, across a number of joint R&D projects. JePPIX R&D focusses on InP and SiNx integration platforms and also hybrid combinations.
- Training events and technology forums enable designers to skill-up and connect with innovators and experts in the photonic integration eco-system. JePPIX connects at expos, workshops and offers training courses around the globe.

The presentation will introduce generic integration platform offered by JePPIX. We will present fabless model which allows to reduce the entry costs of a PIC prototype via participation in multiproject wafer runs down to a level that is affordable for many SMEs and universities. Development of photonic ICs from application idea through simulation, design using advanced PDK tools, till fabrication and packaging is entirely enabled by JePPIX (Joint European Platform for Photonic Integration Components and Circuits) and enabled at low costs for SMEs, but also for large companies and research institutes. This is thanks to applied generic integration model that separates photonic IC application development from technology aspects, and thus accelerates development of novel photonic-based devices.
