DEMCON is a mechatronic system engineering company that focuses on R&D and production of high-tech products and systems. The essentials of systems engineering is integration of a variety of technical disciplines to achieve the best solution for the customer.
For this, open innovation and close collaboration with companies offering new or specific expertise is imperative, such as for example photonics.
This collaboration works in two ways: for a system interrogator, new knowledge relevant for system engineering is build-up in collaboration with a third party, and vice versa, third parties offering a novel technology or expertise can benefit from companies with system engineering expertise in order to arrive to a complete product.
During this talk, two specific cases of photonics integration in a system will be shown that have resulted in products that make an impact and add value to society.
