"JePPIX: Low cost access to PIC technology for SMEs" – Presented by Katarzyna Ławniczuk, TU/e – JePPIX

Development of photonic ICs from application idea through simulation, design using advanced PDK tools, till fabrication and packaging is entirely enabled by JePPIX (Joint European Platform for Photonic Integration Components and Circuits) and enabled at low costs for SMEs, but also for large companies and research institutes. This is thanks to applied generic integration model that separates photonic IC application development from technology aspects, and thus accelerates development of novel photonic-based devices.

About Katarzyna Ławniczuk

Katarzyna Ławniczuk was awarded a joint Ph.D. degree from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, and Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, in 2014. Her research focused on Indium Phosphide-based multiwavelength lasers and photonic integrated transmitters. Katarzyna has been the coordinator of JePPIX at Eindhoven University of Technology from 2013 till 2015. In November 2015 Katarzyna joined BRIGHT Photonics as VP. Since January 2016 Katarzyna is also a project coordinator of EU programme PICs4All at Eindhoven University of Technology.

About Eindhoven University of Technology – JePPIX

JePPIX is a broker that assists organizations around the globe to get access to advanced fabrication processes for Photonic Integrated Circuits. JePPIX aims at low-cost development of Photonic ICs and rapid prototyping via Multi-Project Wafer runs. With JePPIX you can get access to the Indium Phosphide (InP)-based monolithic integration platforms of Fraunhofer HHI, Oclaro and SMART Photonics and the low-loss dielectric TriPleX waveguide technology of LioniX.
